Knowledge of anatomy is essential for creating lifelike and convincing portraits. Ecorche is an application designed to aid artists in learning human anatomy.

 <li>Skeletal: serving as the body's foundation, these bony landmarks are essential for mapping out muscles.</li>
 <li>Muscular: defining the basic shape of the body.</li>
 <li>Fat: playing a significant role in facial contours.</li>
 <li>Skin: with intricate details crucial for artists to capture.</li>
 </ol>
 <li>Users can employ a translucency mode (X-Ray mode) to analyze the relationships between the skin, fat, and muscular layers.</li>
 <li>In the "Gypsum Mode," users can transform their model into a sculptural representation.</li>
 <li>Customizable three-point lighting options enable users to study shape, value, and color according to their preferences.</li>
</ul>
The free version offers observation of the skin layer in both default and "gypsum" modes, while additional functionalities are accessible through the Pro version.
The "Lex" model within the app is expertly crafted by artist Kent Trammell from CG Cookie.
